The Department of Urban and Regional Planning offers a Ph.D degree in Urban and Regional Planning.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The entry requirements are as follows:-

  • Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree by research work from University of Nigeria and other accredited universities.
  • Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Urban and Regional Planning by research work from University of Nigeria and other accredited universities.
  • Candidates, who hold M.Sc or MURP degree in Urban and Regional Planning by project option from accredited universities, will be admitted at the M.Sc /Ph.D level in the first instance and will be eligible to proceed to Ph.D proper after one year of successful research work.
  • All candidates must have obtained at least a grade average B (4 points) at the Masters Degree level.

 

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning offers a Master of Science degree (M.Sc) Programme in Urban and Regional Planning.

4,0       ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The following category of candidates is qualified for admission into the programme:

  • Graduates of the University of Nigeria and other approved universities by the National University commission who hold degrees from accredited programmes in Urban and Regional Planning with at least Second Class Honours.

The Department of Urban and Regional Planning offers a Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree.

 4.0       ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The following categories of candidates are qualified for admission into the programme:

  • Graduates of the University of Nigeria and other approved universities, who hold degrees from accredited programmes in Urban and Regional Planning with at least second Class Honours or equivalent qualifications;
  • Graduates of the University of Nigeria and other approved Universities who hold degrees in related disciplines with at least Second Class Honours.

 

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMME IN URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING

Entry Requirements

In addition to the general University entry requirements, applicants for admission through UME examination must have credit level passes in at least 5 subjects at the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSSC) level or its equivalent. The subjects should include English Language, Mathematics, and any three subjects selected from the following: Economics, Government, Fine Art, Geography, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Biology and Computer Science

For admission by direct entry, candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

  • Upper credit level passes in OND (Ordinary National Diploma) examination in Town Planning or its equivalent, in addition to 5 credit level passes in GCE/OL subjects as for UME candidates.
  • C.E. Advanced Level passes in Mathematics, Geography and one subject from the following: Economics, Government, Fine Arts, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in addition to two other subjects passed at credit level in the WASC/GCE (O/L) or NECO.

The two GCE/OL subjects must include English Language and one of the above subjects not already passed at the GCE Advanced Level.

Direct entry candidates who are admitted into the second year of the programme are required to makeup for any deficiency in their background. Transfer students from other Universities would be treated on their own merit and in line with the University regulations.
